The highest failure rates for EMI/RFI shielding applied to plastic stems occur when harsh environmental conditions interact with injection-molded components. The shielding is a metallic layer bonded to the plastic. As temperature increases or decreases, the plastic expands and contracts. This movement can cause the shielding to crack, effectively rendering it ineffective.

Precision Engineered Products Group’s proprietary application process allows us to resolve this problem at the molecular level. By regulating how the conductive layers within the base material are applied, we can control its elasticity. This enables the manufacture of a solution that will continue to operate at high efficiency within the minimum and maximum temperature ranges of the plastic substrate.

Precision Engineered Products Group offers EMI/RFI shielding in both copper/silver and nickel options.  Copper/silver offers the highest rating for protection. Nickel is utilized in less-sensitive applications.
